NEW DELHI, JULY 3: After five years of preparation, India is now ready to claim its land submerged in the sea. This would get the nation an additional one million sq km of international waters in the strategic Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
According to officials of the Department of Ocean Development, which has substantiated the claim with geographical and technical data, the Prime Minister’s Office has been intimated about finalisation of the claim which has to be placed in front of the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea.
